European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund

The European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) supports the EU Green Deal and a sustainable blue economy by implementing actions in the field of the Union’s Maritime Policy, the Common Fisheries Policy and the EU international ocean governance agenda.

CINEA assists the European Commission and DG MARE in implementing EMFAF actions in direct management. The majority of them are targeted at supporting policy development by the European Commission and implemented by way of procurement (purchase of services) and grants (contribution to specific actions).

Details on the signed grants and information on the participants are available on the public dashboard.

The dashboard covers daily refreshed data from the current multi-annual financial framework (MFF) 2021-2027, as well as the previous MFF from 2014 to 2020.

The list of projects provides additional information such as details on the calls, project dates, as well as links to project fiches. The lens icon allows filtering projects through specific keywords, for example in the project description, call description or project title.

Participants

Participants from different countries are involved in the selected projects. To retrieve the number of participations, a participant involved in N projects will be counted N times.

Legal entities can take part in projects either as coordinators or as participants. The filter on the participant role enables an adjustment of the figures for one of the categories above.

Similarly, the figures can be filtered to show the participation of legal entities that are small and medium-sized enterprises.

A country's performance under EMFAF is calculated in terms of participations, but also in terms of the EU funding granted (EU contribution). A distinction can be made between Member States and other countries.

The list of participants provides additional information on the participant legal status, the 3 levels of the NUTS regions (Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics) and the corresponding EU contribution.

The Participant PIC represents the Participant Identifcation Code. It serves as a unique identifer of an organisation in the Commission's organisation register.
